“Sunning” my hair for Irish dance wig? (Irish dancers please answer)?

My irish dance teacher likes me in a much lighter wig than my hair color, because it looks better on me. I am getting a wig this color-http://www.irishstepdancingwigs.com/grai...My hair is Dark Ash Blonde and she is putting me in Light ash blonde.Should I Sun my hair to make it look lighter? Would it make my wig look better?Thank you!
